MSW, University of Texas at Arlington Assistant Professor Biography Dr. Jeanette Harder is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha as well as Chair of the Graduate and Undergraduate Program committee. She has worked in many settings in academics, research, and practice. Prior to her position at UNO, Dr. Harder was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, teaching practice, technology, and introduction courses in the graduate and undergraduate social work program. She also taught as an Associate Professor at the Collin County Community College, teaching Introduction to Sociology, and Introduction to Social Work. In addition, Dr. Harder has provided instruction in community settings, including the Child Abuse Prevention Center in Dallas, Texas; her church; and a community girls club. Dr. Harder has participated in various research and program evaluation projects. Through her Research Partnership project, she has partners with graduate research students in providing program evaluation services to many community agencies, including: Camp Fire, Omaha, Nebraska She has conducted numerous research and evaluation projects for the National Exchange Club Foundation for the Prevention of Child Abuse, Prevent Child Abuse Nebraska, and the Nebraska Health and Human Services System. For 5 years, Dr. Harder served as a Senior Case Manager at the Child Abuse Prevention Center in Dallas, Texas. In this position, Dr. Harder made home visits to families at-risk for abuse and neglect. She conducted assessments, provided interventions, and supervised volunteer Parent Aides. Dr. Harder also conducted program evaluation activities through the creation and maintenance of an agency database. She has also volunteered in a number of settings including domestic violence, people with disabilities, and eldercare.
