Global Youth Service Day is the largest youth service day and engagement project around the world; over 100 countries participate! Global Youth Service Day brings UNO students, K-12 students, and members of the Omaha community together with local nonprofit partners to serve and learn throughout the day.

This year, UNO's 8th Annual Global Youth Service Day, will take place on Friday, April 26, 2013. Check in begins at 8:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament at 6316 N 30th St Omaha, NE. Shuttles will be provided to bring students from UNO's South Campus and the Milo Bail Student Center to Blessed Sacrament. Volunteers will be transported from Blessed Sacrament to project sites.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in service activities and learn about conservation, preservation, homelessness, recycling, and beautification.

People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to serve.

  • There will be service opportunities with nonprofits across the community and some service activities

  • Service Day will wrap up by 2:00 PM
  • Students will receive lunch and a t-shirt for their service
  • Transportation will be provided for those going off-site for service projects
  • Register on-line and receive 4 hours of service credit for this day if in attendance for the full day of activities and luncheon program
