PARKING REGULATIONS
- No motor vehicle may be parked at the UNO Dodge or Pacific location without a parking permit or authorization, except in metered areas.
- Faculty/Staff members and Students will be held responsible for all parking violations
involving their vehicles or any vehicle which they operate on campus property. If any vehicle on campus
is in violation of any of the rules and regulations contained herein, the person in whose name a UNO
permit is issued, and/or the registered owner or vehicle operator shall be responsible for its presence on
Campus and shall be held responsible for the violation.
- The absence of a “No Parking” sign does not mean that parking is
allowed. Vehicles shall not be parked at any time, in any crosswalk, on campus streets or drives, or
parking lots where parking is not designated either by stall lines, or by directions from a Campus Security
officer.
- Only vehicles assigned to reserved or specifically designated parking stalls may be parked
there. Unauthorized vehicles found in reserved or specifically designated parking stalls or parking lots may
be towed at the owner/operator’s expense without further notice.
- Parking in designated loading and unloading zones is limited to the posted time limit.
Violation notices will be issued to vehicles parked after the posted time limit in loading and unloading
zones or towed at owner/operator’s expense without further notice.
- All valid parking permits issued by any of the University of Nebraska campuses will be
honored on all the campuses of the University of Nebraska except UNMC. Vehicles bearing UNMC
Faculty/Staff permits may park in UNO Faculty/Staff parking areas, provided the operator is conducting
official business. If the operator is attending classes at UNO he/she is required to park in Student parking
lots. Persons parking their vehicles on campus other than their home campus will be subject to the
parking restrictions and regulations of the campus they are visiting. Individuals who need to park on the
UNMC campus may make parking arrangements with the Department/Individual they wish to visit.
- It shall be a violation for any vehicle to be parked continuously in one place for a period in
excess of twenty-four hours on University property. Any vehicle so parked may be towed without further
notice. University Village parking areas, Scott Residence Hall parking areas and Scott Village parking
areas are exempt.
- Faculty/Staff members and Students engaged in University business who find it necessary
to leave their car on campus in excess of twenty-four hours must obtain permission from the Campus
Security Department, and be assigned a specific area for this purpose.
- No vehicle may be parked in designated spaces at an angle or over a stall line, which
restricts or interferes with the entry or exit of vehicles parked on either side.
- The use of a counterfeit permit or unauthorized facsimile shall constitute a violation.
- Obtaining a parking permit under false pretenses or falsifying the information on the parking
permit application or parking on campus with a stolen parking permit shall constitute a violation.
- Unauthorized removal, attempting to remove, tampering with or damaging a Rhino Boot
shall constitute a violation and will subject offender to a penalty, possible disciplinary action from the
appropriate Vice-Chancellor, and/or the filing of legal proceedings against the offender.
- Vehicles displaying the following parking permits shall have the following parking
privileges:
- Reserved - assigned parking space, all Faculty/Staff parking lots and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- Faculty/Staff - Faculty/Staff Parking lots, FCC lot, Lot 4 at the Pacific Location, Student lots A, D, F, H, K, O, and X after 1:30 p.m., Student lot N and lot 2 at the Pacific location after 8:00 p.m. and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- Faculty/Staff Night Only - all Faculty/Staff parking lots after 12:30 p.m. Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location, designated Student lots after 1:30 p.m. and Student lot N and lot 2 at the Pacific location after 8:00 p.m.
- Student - all Student lots, Faculty/Staff lots G, H, M, Q, S and X after 1:30 p.m., Faculty/Staff lots E, R, W and lot 4 at the Pacific location after 8:00 p.m. and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- Student Night Only - all Student parking lots after 12:30 p.m., Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location, designated Faculty/Staff lots after 1:30 p.m. and Faculty/Staff lots E, R, W and lot 4 at the Pacific location after 8:00 p.m.
- University Village - lots J and L, all Student lots, Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location, Faculty/Staff lots G, H, M, Q, S and X after 1:30 p.m. and Faculty/Staff lots E, R, W and lot 4 at the Pacific location after 8:00 p.m.
- Scott Residence Hall - east portion of Lot 7 at the Pacific location, all Student lots, Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location, Faculty/Staff lots G, H, M, Q, S and X after 1:30 p.m. and Faculty/Staff lots E, R, W and Lot 4 at the Pacific location after 8:00 p.m.
- Scott Village - lots 10, 11 or 12 at the Pacific location, all Student lots, Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location, Faculty/Staff lots G, H, M, Q, S and X after 1:30 p.m. and Faculty/Staff lots E, R, W and Lot 4 at the Pacific location after 8:00 p.m.
- G.T.A. - same provisions as Faculty/Staff and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- Vendor - Faculty/Staff or Student parking lots, parking meters and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- Handicap - all Handicap spaces, any Faculty/Staff and Student lots and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- Temporary Parking Permits - All Faculty/Staff and Student parking lots or as assigned. Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- UNMC - individuals with UNMC Faculty/Staff parking permits may park in UNO Faculty/Staff parking areas when on official business but must park in Student parking areas when attending classes or using the HPER facilities. Individuals with UNMC Student parking permits may park in Student parking lots, metered areas and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- UNL - individuals with UNL permits may park in corresponding parking areas, metered areas and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- All persons using parking meters are required to pay for their use during enforcement hours.
- UNK - Individuals with UNK permits may park in corresponding parking areas, metered areas and Shuttle parking areas at the Pacific location.
- The University of Nebraska at Omaha assumes no responsibility for damage to any vehicle
parked or driven on any University property.
- Faculty/Staff and Student parking lots are usually open to all valid permits between semesters, holidays, and on weekends. In addition, University parking lots may be closed to normal users at various times during the semester because of prior reservations, repair, hazards, etc. Notification of closing of lots and/or opening of lots will be carried in eNotes and the Gateway, provided there is enough lead-time for publication.
- Reserved spaces, handicap spaces and metered areas will be enforced between
semesters.
