APPEALS
- The Faculty/Staff Appeals Court and Student Traffic Appeals Commissionhave been established by the University to review the validity of Violation Notices when such a review isrequested by the recipient. A request for such a review must be made on a form provided at the CampusSecurity office. Parking violation appeals must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the date of theViolation Notice. After the 30 days, you forfeit the right to appeal. Special exceptions maybe approved by the Manager of Campus Security. The violation may be upheld, dismissed or the penalty reduced. All violations paid prior to adjudication may be refunded at the campus security office, should the penalty be reduced or dismissed.
- Visitor Appeals will be forwarded to the Faculty/Staff Appeals Court.
- Violations may be vacated (canceled) by an officer or office personnel, with supervisorsapproval, under the following circumstances:
- Visitors - who are not affiliated with the University of Nebraska. (Two per year, Septemberthrough August).
- Obvious office or officer error.
- By directive of Faculty/Staff Appeals Court or Student Traffic Appeals Commission.
- Per UNO Parking and Traffic Rules and Regulations.
- In extreme circumstances (to be determined by the officer's supervisor).
- Filing an appeal does not remove the individual from the Tow/Rhino Boot List until: (1) theindividual record of appeal has been adjudicated and the decision has been received by the CampusSecurity Department and is in favor of the appellant; (2) All violations have been paid in full.
- Submitting an appeal does not stop the violation from becoming delinquent.
