When Normal Is Bad:
Is It Possible To Live Well
In A Highly (Economically) Developed Society?

Presented by
Dr. Michael L. Gillespie
Professor of Philosophy UNOmaha

The ongoing devastation of the earth challenges people to re-examine relation of human life to the conditions for living well.  These reflections focus upon the challenge of living with integrity in societies, such as the

U. S., where achieving expected standards of success spells ecological disaster for the earth and for future generations.

Mike Gillespie teaches Environmental Ethics in the UNO Philosophy and Religion Department.  Having retired to one-half time at UNO, he currently divides his time between Omaha and Washington State where he lives with his family and teaches at the University of Washington.
