What Religion Majors are:

Doing Saying
Dr. Nicolae Roddy is an assistant professor of Old Testament at Creighton University Roddy: "The thorough undergraduate education and high degree of personal encouragement
I received from UNO's Department of Philosophy and Religion faculty afforded me the competitive edge in graduate school - and thus in career opportunities as well."

Carolyn Nussrallah
is an administrator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center

Michelle Ellison plans to attend Bellevue University in the Fall to pursue a Master of Health and Human Services Degree.  This degree will prepare her for the Licensed Mental Health Practitioner test (LMHP) and she will also be a Certified Alcohol and Drug counselor (CDAC). Both licensures will be provisional initially, until she puts in the required field hours. She plans to do the accelerated format, so she will be employed in the field within 1 1/2 years. Her goal is to be in private practice within 2-3 years after getting her MSHS.

Brett Toay: "...After yet another break from school, I returned to UNO and decided to become a religion major. Since I've been at UNO, I can honestly say that the best professors I've ever had have been in the Religion program. They take a genuine interest in their students and help them do the best they can in every aspect of college life.

"...While grad school is a ways off, I know that the education I have received from the Religion department will more than adequately prepare me for any career I decide to embark upon. As John Schaar said, "The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination."
