Psi Chi


Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology. Members of Psi Chi have the chance to take part in fun events, meet other psych undergrads and learn about graduate school.  The members of Psi Chi encourage you to apply for membership!  

You are eligible for membership in the UNO chapter of Psi Chi if you:

  • are enrolled in classes at UNO
  • have established a GPA at UNO
  • are at least a second-semester sophomore
  • are majoring or minoring in Psychology
  • have completed at least 9 hours in Psychology
  • have an overall GPA that is in the top 35% of your class based on rankings within sophomore, within junior, and within senior classes (If the cut-off for the top 35% is below 3.00, you must have an overall GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4-point scale.)
  • have a GPA of at least 3.00 in your Psychology courses

Note that in addition to meeting the requirements above, undergraduate students who have transferred to UNO must have completed at least one semester and earned 9 hours of credit in Psychology at UNO.

For a copy of the application, click here. Membership applications should be submitted to Dr. Cortese. The deadline for applications is February 13, 2012. Current Psi Chi members are scheduled to vote on eligible applicants at their meeting on February 20th. Decision letters will be mailed by February 27th; applicants who are accepted will need to return completed forms and dues by March 12, 2012. The induction ceremony is tentatively scheduled for April 20, 2012.
