Chung

Dr. Chung is a professor of political science and international studies, specializing in the governments and politics of Japan, China and other Pacific rim countries.  He has also  a coordinator of UNO's Third World  Studies Conference and is the department's foreign student adviser.

Dr. Chung
was born in South Korea, a former Air Force officer and is a naturalized U.S. citizen. His bachelor's degree is from Yonsei University (Seoul, Korea) and Master's and Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate School, California. He taught at Arizona State University and has been teaching at UNO since 1971.

Dr. Chung is a recipient of UNO's Excellence in Teaching Award.

Current Research:


His research has mainly focused on personality cult, charisma, and political legitimacy in totalitarian states; political leaders in Asian countries; and methods of teaching of political science. He has also presented numerous papers at teaching and political science conferences. His publications include the wide range of articles in various journals on Asian politics. He is in its final stage of completing an unconventional college text book, Governments and Politics in Global Perspectives.
