Dr. Suk-Soo Kim, Visiting Research Professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, is an associate professor of philosophy at Kyungpook National University in Daegue, Korea. He has a Ph.D. from Sogang University in Seoul, Korea. His areas of specialization are German Idealism, Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, Ethics, and Metaphysics. He has received several fellowships including a fellowship awarded by Korean research Foundation for “The Kantian Philosophy and Transcendental Thomism – Centering on the Theory of J. B. Lotz, S.J.” 2008-2009 (Subject of Study: Transcendental Thomism). His publications include Korean Contemporary Practical Philosophy, Seoul: Dolbegae, 2008; Kant and Contemporary Social Philosophy, Seoul: Ulyuck, 2005; Death and Life of the Koreans, Co-authored with Yul-Gui Kim and 2 others, Seoul: Philosophy & Actuality Press, 2002; Philosophy in Actuality and Actuality in Philosophy, 2001, Bookworld; Life and Ethic of Modern Man, Co-authored with Jong-Dae Park and Te-Ha Lee, Seoul: Minjisa, 2000; Abgrund des Menschen – Philosophische Anthropologie, Co-authored with Yum Seong and Meng-Sook, Philosophy & Actuality Press, 1999. He has also published many other books, written numerous articles, translated books, written submissions for publications and presented papers.
