The University of Nebraska at Omaha Innovation Accelerator (UNOIA) has been established to invigorate, enhance and grow the vibrant innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the greater UNO community. The UNOIA is at the disposal of anyone in the UNO community - whether student, faculty or staff - with an interest in the active pursuit of moving an idea from concept to reality.
The UNOIA represents a unique partnership between the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and the Innovation Accelerator (IA) whereby IA's extensive National network of start-up resources can be brought to bear directly on the UNO community. Consisting of high growth entrepreneurs, business advisors, venture capitalists, industry experts, government agencies and academic institutions, this partnership aims to build a cohesive platform from which UNO faculty, staff and students can explore and execute start-up activities.
The UNOIA partnership is modeled after the IA's successful public-private partnership with the National Science Foundation's Small Business Innovation Research grant program and aims to increase local exposure and connectivity to individuals that have tried and true experience within the vibrant American innovation ecosystem. In addition, the UNOIA will engage and collaborate with UNO's current entrepreneurial programs and endeavors in the hopes of enhancing and growing the current culture.
