CELEBRATING A DECADE
Cumbre 2013, set for Nov. 8-9, marks
OLLAS' 10-year anniversary

The Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS) at UNO invites everyone to help us celebrate 10 years of advancing knowledge, influencing policy and changing lives together. Cumbre is free and open to the public.

Keynote Speaker: Pedro Noguera

Pedro Noguera is one of the country’s most important voices on education reform, diversity, and the achievement gap. Trained as an urban sociologist, Noguera speaks clearly about how social, political and economic conditions in our cities and towns limit educational opportunities for Latino and African American youth. Noguera is the Peter L. Agnew Professor of Education at New York University, the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Center for Urban Education and the co-Director of the Institute for the Study of Globalization and Education in Metropolitan Settings (IGEMS).

The luncheon keynote is the only paid event at Cumbre. Free passes will be available for student and community volunteers. Reserve your seats and organization’s table right away. Ticket prices: $50 per person or $400 per table.
