This bulletin is to bring you up to date regarding some important information, deadlines and other immediate 'to do's’ for the Cuba Study Abroad Trip Summer 2012.

To the left and below, you will find important documents that had to be submitted to OLLAS by March 15, 2012.

 1. COST OF THE TRIP (estimated)

Required Deposit for All Participants
A non-refundable deposit of $150.00 is due to OLLAS no later than March 15, 2012. Deposits may be paid by check or credit card and must accompany your application or registration form (see below). Checks must be made out to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), or you can pay with cash or credit card. All participants must secure their space with the group by submitting the deposit and application or registration forms. Confirmation of your reservation is on a first-come, first-served basis.  There are limited spaces so you must act soon if you want to guarantee a space. The remaining cost will be due April, 26.

UNO Students
UNO Students must enroll in LLS 4950/8956-851 “Latin America Study Abroad: Cuba in the 21st Century” for the summer 2012 semester (July 2 – August 10, 2012). The approximate cost of the trip will be between $3,400 and $3,600 which includes the flight, tuition, hotel (17 nights), two meals a day, local transportation, supplies, tips, special guest lectures, and the cost of the service learning project.
The final cost (less the deposit) will be assessed to your summer student account bill as a special fee. Personal and miscellaneous expenses as well as airport fees, travel insurance (required), meals, and travel outside of the set plan are your responsibility. We recommend you bring between $100-150/week.

 2. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

All students must return the following forms by March 15, 2012 to OLLAS (ASH 106):

Student Application (PDF) - This application is for UNO's study abroad requirements.
Girasol Application (PDF) - This application is for the organization in Florida that will be assisting in our trip.
Study Abroad Agreement (PDF) - This agreement is required for UNO's study abroad students.
