Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)

My CAAUNO understands the sacrifice made by military spouses and wants to make sure that attaining your educational goals is not one of those sacrifices. That’s why UNO is participating in the Department of Defense Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) program.

MyCAA provides eligible military spouses* with up to $4,000 to help them pursue education, certificates, and degrees leading to employment in portable career fields. Many UNO programs, including the Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) and those available fully online, are a part of this program.

Follow these steps to apply MyCAA funding towards your UNO program:

  • Create a MyCAA account at https://aiportal.acc.mil/mycaa.
  • If not already a UNO student, click here to find out how to apply for admission and get started.
  • Set up your Career and Training Plan on your MyCAA account.
    • On your Plan, “Select School” as University of Nebraska at Omaha.
    • For assistance in developing your Plan, you can speak to your UNO Advisor or a Military OneSource Consultant (1-800-342-9647).
    • Make sure your Plan and the program you have selected is approved by MyCAA.
  • Register for classes on MavLink and apply for MyCAA financial assistance before the start date for each class individually.
  • MyCAA financial assistance will be paid directly to UNO. You will be responsible for any remaining balance, so please check your Student Account on MavLink.

If you need assistance with MyCAA or any of these steps, please contact the UNO Offutt AFB Office at unooffutt@unomaha.edu or (402) 595-2371.
