Guess what...school's over for the semester.

To celebrate, the site has been redesigned to include a majestic dove. Can you find it?

Alright everyone....

OAA's Spring Show opens this Saturday at Caffeine Dreams, reception from 9pm-midnight. The show will stay up for 2 wks, there is a 5$ entry fee per artist, you can enter up to 4 pieces framed or ready to hang canvas. (NO BINDER CLIPS)

Work can be dropped off today, tomorrow or Friday by 4:00pm - entry forms are in the painting studio by the couch, leave your work there with a tag (artist name, title, price) attached securely and take your completed entry form and $5 up to Susan/me (3rd floor secretary).

If anyone wants to lend a hand we could use help with hanging on Friday night at 11PM and at the show (drinks, id checkers, etc) from 9-midnight. Let me know if you're interested in helping out!

Thanks, Kara

Hello everyone,

We rescheduled the valentine making party for this Sunday at 11:00am, anyone is more than welcome to come to the UNO printmaking studio. We will be selling our creations in the Student Center on Wednesday the 13th and Thursday the 14th from 11:00-2:00.

On Thursday night Bemis is hosting an Art Talk by Artists-in-Residence Claudia Borgna & Ben Butlerat at 7:00pm, 11th and Leavenworth.

Also there's an opening at the Espana Art Gallery on this Thursday before LOOM, 7-10pm featuring the work of 13 local artists/designers including our friends Joey Lynch and Josh Powell.

We are still looking around for ideas and venues for a spring oaa show, let me know if you have any ideas!

Thanks,

Kara

Ok everybody,

Here's a rough outline of OAA's ideas for the semester:

First we're definitely selling handmade Valentine's in the student center on the 13th and 14th of February. The making of these Valentine's will take place on Sunday, February 3rd from 12:00-5ish. Ryan and Jaime had some great ideas yesterday for romantic images involving locusts and corn, I think I'm gonna do a lino-cut of flaming organs, just to give you an idea of where we're going. Feel free to come up with ideas of your own and join in on the magic. More on this next week.

A trip to Chicago will be taking place over spring break, probably a 3 day trip over one of the weekends.

A fundraiser of some sort should take place in early march and will be entitled "The Whale Oil Magazine Expo" (WOME). We don't know what the fundraiser will be. Ideas?

And of course a big old show of student art will take place probably in late April. No plans for this yet either.

Friday is the Student Show opening reception from 6:30-8:30 in the UNO gallery. We will definitely go out afterwards for drinks at some point somewhere. See ya,

kara

Ryan made this sweet new website for OAA. Let him know if you think something needs to be different, added, etc.
