speakers' bureau

Welcome to the UNO Speakers' Bureau! This guide is intended for not-for-profit groups that are searching for an individual to speak at a meeting, conference, dinner or other special event.

note:

The UNO Experts Guide and the Speakers' Bureau are in the process of being updated and revamped to better meet the needs of the campus and the community. While this process is taking place, anyone needing help in locating an expert or speaker should call either Beverly Newsam at 402.554.2129 or Tim Kaldahl at 402.554.3502.

The new UNO Experts Guide and Speakers' Bureau will be a one-stop area of information instead of two separate Web pages. The campus community will be able to input their own information, similar to the new online UNO Events Calendar. The re-launch of the Experts Guide and Speakers' Bureau will be announced in eNotes. Thank you for your patience.

The guide is organized alphabetically by topic. In some cases, specific speech titles and descriptions have been listed. Other speakers describe their topics in general terms. However, most of the speakers listed will tailor their speech to the specific needs of the audience.

Each speaker is a member of the faculty or staff at UNO. The speakers donate their time to the bureau free of charge.

To schedule a speaker, call Beverly Newsam at 402.554.2129. It is recommended that you schedule your engagement as far in advance as possible. Two weeks to a month is customary.

Please be able to provide the following information when requesting a speaker:

  • Age and/or education/professional background of the audience
  • Length of time allotted for the speech
  • Access to audio-visual equipment
  • Special interests and/or concerns of the audience
  • Audience expertise or prior experience with the selected topic
