UNO Group to Honor Contributions of Women

Omaha - The achievements and contributions of women from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and around the metro will be celebrated at the UNO Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Women (CCSW) Spring 2013 Awards Luncheon this month.

The luncheon will take place Wednesday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m. in the Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC) Ballroom. All members of the UNO and Omaha communities are encouraged to attend.

The highlight of the night will be the unveiling of the fourth annual Legendary Woman Award, which will honor an exceptional woman who was part of the UNO community during the first half of the 1940s.

Other awards handed out at the event will include:

• 2013 Community Service Award - Union Pacific Women in Technology Initiative
• 2013 Achievement Award - Sara Woods, Assistant to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement
• 2013 Scholarship Recipient – Samantha Robb, political science and international relations

Tickets are $5 and on sale at the MBSC Business Office on UNO’s Dodge Campus, or by phone at 402.554.2979. Tables of eight can be reserved for $40 by emailing Gina Hotaling at ghotaling@unomaha.edu.
