UNO Alumni, Friends Show Maverick Spirit Around the World

Omaha - Dr. Seuss may have written “O, The Places You Will Go,” but the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Alumni Association wants to know the places you will go with the “O.”

As part of its centennial anniversary, the alumni association has launched a “Show the O” campaign that makes a large “O” flag available to alumni and friends in exchange for having them photographed holding the flag in front of notable locations around the world.

A number of “O” flags have already traveled to four different continents and world landmarks including Las Vegas, the Great Pyramid of Giza and Vatican City.

Photos sent to the Alumni Association are displayed on a website, www.showtheo.com, which features an interactive map showing the “O’s” travels and a photo gallery that includes brief information about participants.

Alumni, faculty, staff and students can visit the site to request a flag, which does need to be returned. Participants can also download and print an “O” banner that can be used for photos anywhere.

For questions about the “Show the O” campaign, contact Anthony Flott at 402.554.2989 or email aflott@unoalumni.org.
