UNO Sorority Sponsors Day of the Dead Family Event
Omaha - The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) chapter of Lambda Theta Nu, Inc. are sponsoring a special Dia de Los Muertos family event on Saturday, Nov. 3.
The special Day of the Dead event will be held at the W. Dale Clark Public Library, 215 S. 15th St. as part of Literacy Week. Lambda Theta Nu will be at the library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library will have face painting; arts and crafts; reading and other events.
Earlier in the week, the sorority hosted a fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse and sold Literacy Grams in the UNO Milo Bail Student Center.
Dia de Los Muertos is a national holiday in Mexico that focuses on remembering friends and family members that have passed away.
Lambda Theta Nu is a national sorority dedicated to opening doors of opportunity to Latinas and encouraging academic excellence.
