UNO Student Government to Host Safety Walk Oct. 4
Omaha - The Student Government of the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) will be conducting its first Campus Safety Walk on Thursday, Oct. 4, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
During the walk, members of Student Government, UNO administration, faculty and students will be searching the campus to distinguish areas that are unsafe. These items include, but aren’t limited to, loose gravel, poor lighting and handicap accessibility. Crime prevention will also be a focus during the campus walk.
“I wouldn’t consider our campus unsafe but there are areas that we can improve,” said Kyle Broich, College of Public Affairs and Community Service senator. “Once we identify areas of improvement we will prioritize the issues and proceed to go through maintenance to resolve the safety concerns.”
Student Government encourages all students to join the safety walk.
Those interested should RSVP by Monday, Oct. 1, to Nancy Gleason at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Questions can be answered by calling the Student Government office at 402.554.2620.
