Omaha - All five of the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) on-campus housing facilities will soon be welcoming new residents in preparation of the new school year, which begins Monday, Aug. 20.

Starting Sunday, Aug. 12 and running through Saturday, Aug. 18, a mix of new and returning students will be moving into one of UNO’s residence halls: Scott Court, Scott Village, Maverick Village, University Village and Scott Hall.

On Aug. 12, Scott Court and Scott Village, located on UNO’s Pacific Campus, will be opened up to students, many of which will be living away from home for the first time. Scott Court’s move-in time runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Scott Village’s move-in time runs from 1 to 4 p.m.

Maverick Village, located on the southwest end of UNO’s Dodge Campus, will open its doors to new residents on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following day, University Village, will be opened for move in from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. University Village is located just east of Maverick Village on the southwest end of campus.

UNO’s move-in week will end on Saturday, Aug. 18 with the opening of Scott Hall, located adjacent to the Scott Conference Center, on UNO’s Pacific Campus. Scott Hall will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Also, any students who missed the Thursday and Friday move-in dates for Maverick Village and University Village will be able to move from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day.

UNO opened its first apartment-style houses in 1999 with the opening of University Village; the development was followed in 2000 by Scott Hall, Scott Village in 2003, Maverick Village in 2008 and Scott Court in 2011.
