Peter Kiewit Institute Announces Scott Scholar Class of 2016

Omaha - The University of Nebraska has announced the recipients of the 2012 Walter Scott, Jr. Scott Scholarships. The Scott Scholar Class of 2016 is made up of 32 high school graduates from Nebraska and across the Midwest.

The Scott Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship extended by the University of Nebraska’s Peter Kiewit Institute (PKI). The Scott Scholar Class of 2016 will be attending classes at PKI on a full-ride scholarship.

Located on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), PKI is a premiere 21st-century high-technology learning and research institute. PKI is home to approximately 1800 undergraduate and graduate students and 110 faculty from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Engineering and UNO’s College of Information Science and Technology (IS&T).

Joseph Eley, son of Mark and Lisa Eley, will be studying Computer Science beginning August 2012. He previously attended Lincoln Lutheran High School in Lincoln.

Christopher Fuchs, son of Roger and Terri Fuchs, will be studying Computer Engineering beginning August 2012. He previously attended Columbus High School in Columbus, Neb.

Grady Henrichs, son of Todd and Wendy Henrichs, will be study Civil Engineering beginning August 2012. He previously attended Lincoln East High School in Lincoln.

Andrew Hilgenkamp, son of David and Andrea Hilgenkamp, will be studying Civil Engineering beginning August 2012. He previously attended Fremont High School in Colon, Neb.

Taylor Jurgens, son of Gary and Rochelle Jurgens, will be studying Civil Engineering beginning August 2012. He previously attended Holdrege High School in Holdrege, Neb.

Emily Kadavy, daughter of Briant and Carrie Kadavy, will be studying Electronics Engineering beginning August 2012. She previously attended York High School in York, Neb.

Brock Lewis, son of Mike and Staci Lewis, will be studying Bioinformatics beginning August 2012. He previously attended Seward High School in Seward, Neb.

Isaac Lindgren, son of Paul and Michelle Lindgren, will be studying Computer Engineering beginning August 2012. He previously attended Blair High School in Blair, Neb.

Berkley Lyman, daughter of Terry and Kay Lyman, will be studying Information Assurance beginning August 2012. She previously attended Papillion La Vista High School in Papillion, Neb.

Jackson Mahrt, son of Lonnie and Carla Mahrt, will be studying Civil Engineering beginning August 2012. He previously attended Archbishop Bergan Catholic High School in Fremont.

Joseph Meyer, son of Richard and Carol Casey Meyer, will be studying Computer Science beginning August 2012. He previously attended Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha.

Nicholas Miesbach, son of David and Cindy Miesbach, will be studying IT Innovation beginning August 2012. He previously attended Waverly High School in Waverly, Neb.

Emily Pachunka, daughter of Scott and Kate Pachunka. Emily will be studying Bioinformatics beginning August 2012. She previously attended Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha.

Danielle Passaglia, daughter of Rick and Sally Passaglia, will be studying Architectural Engineering beginning August 2012. She previously attended Wheaton Warrenville South in Wheaton, Ill.
