Free Financial Conference Offered July 21 by Family Housing Advisory Services
Omaha - The third annual "Surviving in Today's Economy," a free financial conference and luncheon, will be held at the downtown Hilton Omaha on Thursday, July 21. The conference will run from 8 to 11:20 a.m., with the Community Difference Maker luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be Tom Hoenig, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. In his remarks, Hoenig will discuss economic survival.
The conference is hosted by Family Housing Advisory Services, Inc., and will cover raising awareness of finances, cutting expenses, taxes, saving strategies and suggestions for dealing with debt.
Three breakout sessions will be available, each covering a variety of material including money management, investment strategies and predatory lending.
Ken Kriz of the School of Public Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will host one of the break-out sessions.
The conference is intended for people of all ages and economic backgrounds who are looking for financial knowledge in this time of economic uncertainty.
This year's partners include: Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City-Omaha Branch, Egermier Group Wealth Management/LPL Financial and UNO. Event sponsors include US Bank, Wells Fargo Bank Nebraska, Creighton University, Hilton Omaha, Department of Housing and Urban Development and Barnhart Press.
Family Housing Advisory Services works to empower all people to improve their housing opportunities through education, counseling and advocacy.
