Spanish Works by Middle, High School Students Honored April 22

Omaha - Winners of the second annual “Through Our Words: Hands, Minds and Hearts at Work,” a Spanish creative writing contest, will be honored at 5 p.m. Friday, April 22, on the third floor of the Milo Bail Student Center at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).

Earlier this year, Nebraska students in grades 5 through 12 were invited to submit poems, essays and short narratives in Spanish for the writing contest, which was sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages and the Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS).

UNO received more than 200 entries from students across the state.

The award-winning entries and a group of selected submissions will be on display at UNO’s Criss Library in June, and are listed as follows.
