ODK to Host Screening of AIDS Documentary
Omaha - In association with the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the ONE campaign will be hosting a film screening of "The Lazurus Effect" on campus Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m.
"The Lazurus Effect" is a 30-minute documentary from HBO on the benefits of life-saving AIDS medicine in Zambia. A panel discussion will follow the film, which is being shown in the College of Public Affairs and Community Service Collaborating Commons, Room 132.
A goal of the event is to establish a ONE organization on the UNO campus. According to the group’s website, "ONE is a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and pressuring political leaders to support smart and effective policies and programs that are saving lives, helping to put kids in school and improving futures."
