Christensen to Present State-of-the-University Address Oct. 6 at UNO
Omaha - University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Chancellor John Christensen will deliver his annual state-of-the-university address at fall convocation Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Christensen is expected to examine UNO’s role as a metropolitan university in a national context, as reflected in a recent survey by the Coalition for Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU). UNO was a founding member of the organization in the mid-1990s.
Christensen will also discuss UNO’s recent enrollment numbers, the university’s priority on community engagement and campus accomplishments during the past year.
Convocation begins at 10 a.m. at the Strauss Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. UNO faculty, staff, students and the public are invited to attend the free event.
A reception at the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom will immediately follow Christensen’s remarks.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is Nebraska’s metropolitan university. The core values of the institution place students at the center of all that the university does; call for the campus to strive for academic excellence; and promote community engagement that transforms and improves urban, regional, national and global life. UNO, inaugurated in 1968, emerged from the Municipal University of Omaha, established in 1931, which grew out of the University of Omaha founded in 1908.
