UNO Theatre Presents Eurydice

Omaha - The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Department of Theatre will present Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl – directed by UNO graduate student Krystal Kelly, in partial fulfillment of her MA degree – Oct. 6-16.

Previews run Wednesday, Oct. 6 and Thursday, Oct. 7, with performances Friday, Oct. 8 and Saturday, Oct. 9, and Wednesday, Oct. 13 through Saturday, Oct. 16 at the UNO Theatre, inside the Weber Fine Arts Building on the UNO campus.

The house opens at 7 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. curtain for all performances. The Oct. 6 preview is a TAG Night Out. There will be a talkback session held in the theatre following the Oct. 16 performance.

Tragedy is reborn in Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice, a contemporary retelling of the classic Orpheus myth through the eyes of its heroine. Eurydice is an inexpressibly moving theatrical fable about love, loss and the pleasures and pains of memory. Humor punctuates the heart wrenching story of Eurydice. The company of Eurydice invites audience members to take part in UNO’s highly original interpretation of Ruhl’s postmodern tragedy.

For tickets, call (402) 554-PLAY or visit the UNO box office, located on the first floor of UNO’s Weber Fine Arts Building. The box office opens Monday, Sept. 27.

For previews, tickets are $5 for general admission. For performances, tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for seniors. Tickets are free for UNO students who present a valid UNO ID, and $5 for all other students who present a valid school ID.
