UNO Commencement Aug. 13 at the Civic
Omaha - More than 510 students will graduate Friday, Aug. 13, during the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) summer commencement ceremony. The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium, 1804 Capitol Ave.
Individuals who will be honored during the ceremony include:
Student Commencement Speaker: Anna Forman
Forman - a Saratov, Russia, native - will present the
student commencement address. She
graduates cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in international
studies with a concentration on international management and business, global
strategic studies and area studies of Eastern Europe and Russia. Upon
graduating from UNO, Forman hopes to study international law and become a
lawyer.
Alumnus Achievement Award: J. Terrence Haney
Haney earned both of his degrees from UNO - a bachelor of
general studies degree in 1991 and a master's degree in gerontology in 1998. He retired in 1999 as chief executive
officer and principal owner of Insurance Consultants and PayFlex Systems USA. Founded in 1964,
Insurance Consultants is one of the nation's top-10 third party administrators
working with employers to administer benefit spending accounts, COBRA and
Transit programs. Haney has established
an endowed faculty position at UNO, as well as several funds and scholarships.
