Maverick Productions to Host Comedy, Poetry Events

Omaha - Maverick Productions at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will present a comedy and poetry event Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the Maverick Lounge, near the Milo Bail Student Center Food Court.

The event will feature three comedians and three slam poets. One comedian and one poet will be selected from a tryout of UNO students on Thursday, Feb. 25. Tryouts will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom. Each comedian/poet will have 3 to 5 minutes to perform. Tryouts will be judged by a combination of poets and comedians from the Omaha area.

One poet and one comedian will be selected to perform during the March 23 event.

To register, visit the Student Organizations and Leadership Programs office on the first floor of the Milo Bail Student Center, or call (402) 554-2711.

The comedy and poetry event on March 23 is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
