UNO Launches New Web Site for Adult Learners

Omaha - A new University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Web site gives adults looking to come back to school an easy to use entry point to learn about a variety of degree programs. The Web address is also easy to remember – www.chooseuno.com .

“Adult learners have a different set of concerns. We address those online” said Kathy Menke, assistant dean for the College of Public Affairs and Community Service. “We also know that there’s a range of needs that are specific to our metropolitan area. The site has specific information for people looking for bachelor’s degree, graduate, online or military focused programs.”

The Web site went live this month. Menke said the feedback has been positive.

“When people are researching anything they go to the Web. We now have a resource that reflects the quality of our programs,” she said. “It’s easy to navigate and we know that will be attractive in the community.” Through the Division of Continuing Studies, there are more than 40 areas of concentration available to adult students.

For more information, check the Web or call 402.554.2370.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The celebration recognizes the partnership among the City of Omaha, its citizens and UNO to build a vibrant and dynamic community. The centennial theme is UNO: Central To Our City Since 1908. This theme acknowledges the past contributions of UNO to the community and sets the stage for great things to come. UNO, inaugurated in 1968, emerged from the Municipal University of Omaha, established in 1931, which grew out of the University of Omaha founded in 1908.
