Free Financial Seminar Offered by UNO, Family Housing Advisory Services on July 18
Omaha - "Surviving in Today's Economy," a free financial seminar, will be held at the College of Public Affairs and Community Service Building on the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) campus Saturday, July 18. The seminar will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is jointly hosted by UNO and Family Housing Advisory Services, Inc. (FHAS) in Omaha.
David Brown, president of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, is the seminar’s keynote speaker. Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle and FHAS Executive Director Teresa Hunter will offer opening remarks.
Three breakout sessions will be offered, each covering a variety of topics including: money management, investment strategies, preparing for homeownership and predatory lending. The seminar is intended for people of all ages and economic backgrounds who are looking for financial knowledge in this time of economic uncertainty.

FHAS works to empower all people to improve their housing opportunities through education, counseling and advocacy. FHAS is Omaha’s premier housing counseling agency founded in 1968 to increase homeownership opportunities. FHAS is a private nonprofit, HUD-certified comprehensive housing counseling agency in the metropolitan area. FHAS serves about 8,000 households (46,000 individuals) each year, helping families move from homelessness to homeownership and beyond.
