UNO to Launch HD Radio Station in September
Omaha - The College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has announced the launch of KVNO HD2 (90.7-2). Known as MavRadio, the station will feature classical, blues and other music formats, along with public affairs programs.
The emphasis for the station, however, will be the incorporation of student work through on-air shifts and productions. The inaugural air date is Sept. 9. The current closed circuit student radio station housed in the Milo Bail Student Center will remain a UNO student organization.
MavRadio joins its sister station KVNO-FM (90.7) in broadcasting in High Definition. (HD Digital Radio features CD-quality sound. To hear MavRadio, an HD Digital Radio receiver is required.)

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The celebration recognizes the partnership among the City of Omaha, its citizens and UNO to build a vibrant and dynamic community. The centennial theme is UNO: Central To Our City Since 1908. This theme acknowledges the past contributions of UNO to the community and sets the stage for great things to come. UNO, inaugurated in 1968, emerged from the Municipal University of Omaha, established in 1931, which grew out of the University of Omaha founded in 1908.
