Studio Art Faculty Show to Open Jan. 16
Omaha - The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Department of Art and Art History will open a new exhibition, the “Studio Art Faculty Show,” on Friday, Jan. 16. The exhibit runs through Wednesday, Feb. 18.
The “Studio Art Faculty Show” features work by the full and part-time faculty from the Department of Art and Art History in the UNO College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media. The UNO Art Gallery, located on the first floor of the Weber Fine Arts Building, will host the display. An opening reception will take place in the gallery Jan. 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. For further information, please call (402) 554-2796 or visit the UNO Art Gallery website at www.unoartgallery.org.
UNO is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The celebration recognizes the partnership among the City of Omaha, its citizens and UNO to build a vibrant and dynamic community. The centennial theme is “UNO: Central To Our City Since 1908.” This theme acknowledges the past contributions of UNO to the community and sets the stage for great things to come.
UNO, inaugurated in 1968, emerged from the Municipal University of Omaha, established in 1931, which grew out of the University of Omaha founded in 1908. For Centennial information, go to http://www.unomaha.edu/100/.
