Omaha - Cellist David Low and pianist Rimantas Vingras will present a cello-piano recital Wednesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Strauss Performing Arts Center at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).
The concert will include the cello-piano duo Saonatas of the Russian composers Nicolai Miaskovsky and Dmitri Kabalevsky. It also will feature the French composer Claude Debussy and the premiere of a work by American composer Jackson Berkey.
Low, the Kayser Distinguished Professor of cello at UNO, and Vingras, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and Music Academy of Lithuania, have played together for five years. The pair has toured extensively throughout the Midwest and abroad, and they will visit Lithuania again later this year.
Tickets cost $5 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students. UNO and University of Nebraska-Lincoln students are admitted free with a valid ID card.

UNO will celebrate its 100th anniversary beginning Oct. 8, 2008. This celebration will recognize the partnership among the city of Omaha, its citizens and UNO to build a vibrant and dynamic community. The centennial theme is "UNO: Central To Our City Since 1908." This theme acknowledges the past contributions of UNO to the community and sets the stage for great things to come.
UNO, inaugurated in 1968, emerged from the Municipal University of Omaha, established in 1931, which grew out of the University of Omaha founded in 1908. For Centennial information, go to http://www.unomaha.edu/100/.
