Second Finalist for Dean of College of Arts and Sciences on Campus

Omaha - David Boocker, chair and professor of the Department of English and Journalism at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill., will visit UNO Tuesday, March 11, to be interviewed for the position of dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Boocker is one of four finalists.

Faculty, staff, students and the public can attend the open session Tuesday, March 11, during his campus visit from 4 to 5:15 p.m. in the Milo Bail Student Center Dodge Room.

The other three finalists are Marshall Sundberg, professor of biology at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan.; Steven Haggbloom, department head and professor of psychology at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky.; and Susan Maher, chair and professor of English at UNO.

Dr. Haggbloom visits campus Thursday and Friday, March 13-14, and Dr. Maher on Monday and Tuesday, March 24-25.

B.J. Reed, dean of the College of Public Affairs and Community Service, has chaired the search committee.

This celebration will recognize the partnership among the City of Omaha, its citizens and UNO to build a vibrant and dynamic community. The centennial theme is “UNO: Central To Our City Since 1908.” This theme acknowledges the past contributions of UNO to the community and sets the stage for great things to come.
