First Finalist for Dean of College of Arts and Sciences on Campus

Omaha - Marshall Sundberg, professor of biology at Emporia State University, Emporia, Kan., will visit UNO and be interviewed for the position of dean of the College of Arts and Sciences starting on Monday, Feb. 25. Sundberg is one of four finalists.

Faculty, staff, students and the public can attend the open session during his campus visit on Monday, Feb. 25 from 4 to 5:15 p.m. in 438 Arts and Sciences Hall.

The three other finalists are: David Boocker, chair and professor in the Department of English and Journalism at Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill.; Steven Haggbloom, department head and professor of Psychology at Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky.; and Susan Maher, chair and professor of English at UNO.

Boocker visits campus March 11-12; Haggbloom on March 13-14; and Maher on March 24-25.

Sundberg earned his doctorate and master’s degrees from the University of Minnesota. Prior to his post at Emporia State University, Sundberg worked at Louisiana State University.

B.J. Reed, dean of the College of Public Affairs and Community Service, has chaired the search committee.
