Third Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance Search Candidate to Visit UNO Feb. 25-26

Omaha - John Patterson, vice president for Administration and Campus Life at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan., will visit the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and be interviewed for the position of vice chancellor for Business and Finance starting on Monday, Feb. 25. Patterson is one of four finalists.

Faculty, staff, students and the public can attend any of the following open session events during his two-day campus visit. The days, times, sponsoring organizations and locations are:

* Monday, Feb. 25, 3 p.m. -- Faculty Senate hosts meeting in the Milo Bail Student Center Chancellor’s Room,;

* Monday, Feb. 25, 5 p.m. -- Student Leadership hosts meeting in the MBSC Jenkins Room; and

* Tuesday, Feb. 26, 8:30 a.m. -- Staff Advisory Council hosts meeting in the MBSC Jenkins Room.

The three other finalists are Bill Conley, managing director of Flatwater Ventures, LLC; Tom Johnson, vice president of Finance and Operations at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Andrew Soll, vice chancellor for Business and Student Services at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Clare. Soll comes to campus on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 27-28. Conley completed his campus visit Feb. 13-14; Johnson on Feb. 20 and 21

Patterson has been in his position with Pittsburg State since 1990. Prior to arriving at Pittsburg State, he served as comptroller for the University of Kansas from 1980 through 1990. He received his bachelor’s degree in business education from Emporia State University in 1972 and earned his master’s in accounting at Wichita State University in 1977.
