UNO Broadcast Students Plan Super Tuesday Coverage
Omaha - Viewers looking for complete, continually updated political coverage on Super Tuesday should turn their TVs to The Knowledge Network on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
“Vote 2008: Super Tuesday,” a production of UNO Television and broadcast journalism students at UNO, airs at 8 p.m. on Cox channel 17 and Qwest channel 74.
Guest commentators on the broadcast will include Jonathan Benjamin Alvarado, associate professor of political science; Mark Quandahl, chair of the Nebraska Republican Party; and Steve Achelpohl, chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party.
School of Communication associate professor Chris Allen is the executive producer, and professor Mike Hilt, interim general manager of KVNO and UNO-TV, is the program’s producer. UNO Television staff are also involved in the broadcast.
“We’re trying to provide a public service to the people of Omaha they might not find on the networks,” Allen said.
The group of educators and students also plan complete, live coverage of the Nov. 4 elections from their studio on the UNO campus.
