2008 Black History Month Celebration Under Way at UNO

Omaha - The 2008 Black History Month celebration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is under way with a variety of free events, including music, dance, poetry and film. The public is invited to attend.

The schedule of events:

- Wednesday, Jan. 30
Film screening of "White Lies Black Sheep" and dialogue with director James Spooner
Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC) Nebraska Room
1 to 4 p.m.

- Thursday, Feb. 7
The Pan African Gathering: Black on Black Dialogue, pt. II
MBSC Nebraska Room
Noon to 2 p.m.

- Monday, Feb. 18
Cultural Mixer (featuring music, games and food)
MBSC Council Room
Noon to 1 p.m.

- Thursday, Feb. 21
Spoken word poet Laura "Piece" Kelley-Jahn
MBSC Nebraska Room
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Friday, Feb. 22
Massive Monkees break dance crew
Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building Dance Lab
