Finalists Named for UNO Senior Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs
Omaha - Four finalists have been named for the position of senior vice chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).Each of the finalists will make an official visit to the campus before the end of January, with public forums on campus scheduled to allow the community to meet each candidate.
The times and locations of the public forums are currently being finalized. ENotes will publish all of the campus visit information as it becomes available. Information will also be online at the senior vice chancellor search page-- http://www.unomaha.edu/aandsaffairs/vc-search/ .
The search committee was chaired by Dr. Sheri Noren Everts, interim senior vice chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs.
"The quality of applicants for the position of vice chancellor has been excellent,” she said. “It has been a challenging task for the committee and the chancellor to select four finalists.”
The finalists are:
• Dr. Charles D. Hurt, former provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls;
• Dr. Terry Hynes, dean emerita and professor in the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications;
• Dr. Gordon McQuere, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Washburn University, Topeka, Kan.; and
• Dr. Suzanne Ortega, dean of the University of Washington Graduate School and vice provost.
