"The work, a vivid orchestral depiction of 1001 Arabian Nights, is a tour de force for orchestra allowing our UNO student artists in the orchestra to showcase their talents," said Kimberly Ahrenholtz-Mettenbrink, events coordinator/building manager at the Strauss Performaing Arts Center.
Also included on the program is Mozart's Overture to The Magic Flute. Two UNO student concert-aria competition winners will appear with the orchestra. Kristin Simpson will perform violin with Bloch's Baal Shem and Cantor Gastón Bogomolni will sing Donizetti's aria "Una furtiva lagrima."
