Activities Planned for 2007 Homecoming
Omaha - Current students, alumni and their families will celebrate Homecoming 2007 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) during a number of events, followed by the school’s annual Homecoming football game 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
“Mojo Lives Here” is the theme of a recruitment open house Saturday, Sept. 29, at UNO. Interested students and their families are invited to learn more about UNO from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Milo Bail Student Center.
Academic colleges and student organizations will discuss their programs and offerings from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m., followed by an official welcome by UNO Chancellor John Christensen.
The Maverick Roundtable begins at 10 a.m., where UNO students will discuss campus life. Parents will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session from 11 a.m. to noon
“Homecoming is an exciting time on campus every year,” said David Cicotello, director of new student enrollment services at UNO. “This year’s homecoming activities are designed for not only our returning alumni, but new students, as well.”
At 11 a.m. the homecoming tailgate party begins at the Pep Bowl, featuring a mechanical bull, obstacle course and registration to win a new car. (The winner will be announced at halftime.)
The UNO Marching Band will perform at noon, an hour before kickoff between UNO and Minnesota State, Mankato. Free food and beverages will also be served at noon.
