Former UNO Chancellor Honored by Omicron Delta Kappa
Omaha - Del Weber, chancellor emeritus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has received the Ronald Roskens Award for the Development and Support of Higher Education by the Nebraska Circles of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK). ODK is a national leadership honor society.
The award was presented during a luncheon ceremony Sept. 8 at UNO.
Weber’s record of accomplishment at UNO, where he served as chancellor from 1977-1997, exemplify the principles on which Omicron Delta Kappa was founded: exemplary character; responsible leadership and service; genuine fellowship; high standard of scholarship; and consecration to democratic ideals.
Former University of Nebraska President Dr. Ronald Roskens first received the award in 2006. The award was named in Roskens’ honor for his lifelong service to higher education in Nebraska. Roskens also served as UNO chancellor prior to Weber, from 1972 through 1977.
