"Aim for the Stars" Saturday Science and Math Camps Begin Sept. 8
Omaha - Fans of the University of Nebraska at Omaha's (UNO) "Aim for the Stars" summer science and math camps can enjoy the events a little longer, starting Saturday, Sept. 8, when the activities are extended to Saturdays this fall. A different topic will be explored each week.
The fall camps will be held in Council Bluffs at Wilson Junior High School, 715 N. 21st St., from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Transportation to and from Wilson will be available by bus from the Micah House, the Phoenix House and Walnut Grove and Rue Elementary Schools.
The Saturday camps are open to Pottawattamie County (Iowa) families, and a nominal fee will be charged per person. Grant assistance is available for those who receive free and reduced priced school lunches.
Funded through a grant from the Iowa West Foundation, the camps are designed to enlighten, inspire and educate camp participants. Parents are invited, but not required, to attend with their children.
For more information, including the bussing schedule and fees, call (402) 554-4999 or 1-877-UNO-CAMP (1-877-866-2267).
