Townley Joins UNO University Relations

Omaha - The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has hired Wendy Townley as an assistant director of University Relations.  She will manage media relations for the university.

The assistant director for media relations position was vacated by Tim Kaldahl, who was promoted to director of the department earlier this year. Townley has worked as a public affairs specialist for Cox Communications, as well as an account executive for Leslie Kline Lukas & Associates, a local public relations firm.

Townley is also a board member of the Omaha Press Club and the Nebraska chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Prior to joining Leslie Kline Lukas & Associates, Townley worked as a staff writer for the Bellevue Leader, Papillion Times and La Vista Sun newspapers.

Townley earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from UNO in 2002. During her time as a UNO student, she also served as editor in chief of The Gateway, the campus’ student newspaper.
