UNO Black History Month Celebration Under Way

Omaha - The annual Black History Month celebration is under way at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). The schedule of events is listed below. All activities - which include discussions, music and a film screening - are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, Feb. 13
- Lynch Fragments: The Works of Mel Edwards
Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC) Ballroom

- The Image of the Young Black Male: A Panel Discussion of Kehinde Wiley

11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 14
- Imani Wind Quintet

- "The Struggle and YOU" (with M-1 of Hip Hop Duo Dead Prez)

Black History Month at UNO is being sponsored by Student Organizations and Leadership Programs, the UNO Department of Black Studies, African American Organization, the American Multicultural Students Agency and a grant by the Nebraska Arts Council.
