Omaha - The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Chancellor's Commission on the Status of Women (CCSW) and the UNO Women's Studies Program will host a campus event in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month Thursday, Oct. 19, at UNO.
The event, "Know Your Boundaries," will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC) Nebraska Room. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
Speakers from both on and off campus, including the YWCA Omaha, the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and multiple campus organizations, are scheduled to appear. The event will highlight the issues of intimate partner violence, healthy relationship skills, and the resources on campus and in the community that are available for addressing these issues.
"Students, faculty and staff are welcome to drop in or stay for the entire event," said Elizabeth Keller, event organizer and CCSW member.
Those interested in attending are invited to bring their lunch. For more information, contact Dr. Keller at 554.3317 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
