Network for disAbled Students to Host Disability Days at UNO

Omaha - Faculty, staff and students from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will discover what it might be like to have a disability this week. Members of the Network for disAbled Students at UNO will host Disability Days Tuesday, Sept. 19, through Thursday, Sept. 21, at UNO.

"The three-day event will encompass a game day, a lecture and a hands-on activity," said Erin Cron, Student Organizations and Leadership Programs adviser at UNO. "Participants will get to experience what it is like to live and perform day-to-day activities with a disability."

The activities are highlighted below:

Tuesday, Sept. 19
- Game Day
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC) Nebraska Room
Play board games and meet new friends.

Wednesday, Sept. 20
- Lecture Day
Noon
MBSC Nebraska Room
Mike Kult, assistant director of facilities, intramural sports and special events with UNO Campus Recreation, will discuss his experiences playing sports with a disability.

Thursday, Sept. 21
- A Walk in My Shoes Event
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Nebraska Room
Through wheelchair games and other activities, participants will have an opportunity to experience what it's like to have a disability.
