The five Linden trees on the west side of the Pep Bowl will be removed during Spring Break, March 24-28.
These 60-year old trees are near the end of their life cycle and have significantly deteriorated over the past few years, suffering from major insect and structural damage. Large portions of the tree canopy have been removed and their continued deterioration poses a safety issue for the area.
As with the previous Linden removal on the east side of the Pep Bowl, we have consulted with local arboriculture experts on next steps and all agree that removal is warranted. New replacement trees will be planted following removal.
