OMAHA – The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is one of two metro locations hosting a camp dedicated to training the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
Offered by the AIM Institute, in collaboration with UNO’s College of Information Science & Technology and Bellevue University, the Silicon Prairie GenCyber Camp runs July 18 – 22.
This is the first year of the program in Omaha.
With programming for both area youth and educators, the camp uses hands-on, investigative activities to educate participants about the principles, risks and applications of cybersecurity.
GenCyber is a nationwide grant program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Security Agency (NSA). GenCyber provides funding to programs to introduce students and educators to the fields of cybersecurity as well as build excitement and awareness of the field.
Registrations are no longer being accepted.
