OMAHA – Anyone interested in how we teach or learn languages will benefit from attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s (UNO) Master of Arts in Language Teaching Colloquium this month.
The colloquium is set for Saturday, Feb. 20, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mammel Hall (6708 Pine Street). It is free and open to the public. No permit is required to park on campus during weekends.
The event will include a half-hour meet and greet, a lecture by Washington University in St. Louis Professor Lynne Tatlock and a variety of breakout sessions.
Tatlock specializes in German literature and culture. She is also a translator and in that role, often works with women’s literature. Her research interests include regionalism, nationalism, and the construction and representation of community.
Organizers hope the event draws world language teachers, ESL teachers, in-service teachers and applied linguists. Organizers encourage anyone who is interested in how to improve the ways we teach and learn languages to attend.
